1. Who we are
Jev-check (the “Service”, available at jevcheck.app and through the @jevcheck account on X) is operated by AKY X GROUP LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 14137444, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hi@jevcheck.app.
By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you can accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. What Jev-check does
Jev-check scores the writing style of posts on X. For each post it estimates how much the post reads as rage bait, engagement farming or AI-written, and how much substance it has, and assigns a one-word headline (for example “Bait” or “Real”). Scores are produced automatically by a third-party decision model (TypeSafe's Jev) or, when that is unavailable, a fallback language model.
Scores are model-generated opinions about writing style, not statements of fact about any person. They can be wrong. A score does not mean a post was actually written by AI, that its author acted in bad faith, or anything about the author's character. Don't rely on a score to make decisions about a person.
3. Using the Service
- Single-post checks are free, up to 10 per visitor per day. You can paste post text or a link to a public post.
- Sign in with X lets us read your recent posts to build a free teaser and, if you buy it, your full report. We only request read access, and we never post, like or follow on your behalf.
- The @jevcheck bot replies with a verdict card when someone mentions it under a post. It only replies when summoned, never to protected accounts.
- You must be at least 18 to buy anything, and old enough to hold an X account where you live.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use scores, cards or reports to harass, threaten, defame or target anyone;
- present a score as a verified fact, or edit a card to change what it says;
- submit content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to share;
- scrape, overload, or get around the Service's limits (including the daily check limit and bot caps), or use automated means to access it except through features we provide;
- reverse engineer the Service or use it to build a competing dataset or model.
We may limit, suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Paid products
- Timeline report: a one-time purchase that scores up to your last 200 original posts, with your worst and best posts, a monthly trend and a shareable card.
- Check any account: a one-time purchase of the same report for another public X account.
- Pro (when available): a monthly subscription for extra features described at the point of sale. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal linked in your receipt, and it stays active until the end of the paid period.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar Software, Inc. (“Polar”), which is the merchant of record for all orders. Polar sells you the product, takes payment, calculates and collects VAT or sales tax where it applies, and issues your receipt, and its terms apply to the purchase. Prices are shown before you pay. We never see or store your card details. A report depends on the account's public posts being available from X at the time we build it.
6. Cancellation and refunds
Reports are digital content that we start producing as soon as you pay. When you buy, you ask us to start immediately and acknowledge that, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you lose your 14-day right to cancel once the report has been supplied. This doesn't affect your statutory rights if a report is faulty or not as described. See the Refund Policy for when we refund automatically and how to ask.
7. Your content and our cards
You keep any rights you have in text you paste. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process it to provide the Service, including showing an excerpt of the post on its verdict card and page.
Posts belong to their authors and are shown under X's terms. Verdict cards and pages are public by link; you may share them as they are. The Jev-check name, design and software belong to us.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on X, TypeSafe, Polar and other providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Jev-check is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by X Corp. or TypeSafe. If a provider changes or withdraws its service, features may change or stop.
9. If you are the subject of a check
If your public posts have been checked and you want a card or report taken down, or want to object to your account being checked, email hi@jevcheck.app from, or with proof of control of, the account. We'll review it promptly and, where appropriate, remove the material and stop further checks of that account.
10. Availability and changes
We provide the Service as it is and as available. We may change, pause or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature you have paid for and not yet received, we'll refund you.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses (such as lost profit, revenue or opportunity), or for how anyone else uses a score or card. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £100.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time and revoke Jev-check's access from your X settings (Security and account access → Apps and sessions). To delete your data, see the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects you we'll tell you, for example by email or a notice on the site, before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
14. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also rely on the mandatory consumer protections where you live and bring proceedings in your local courts.
